Passing tests vs. Speaking English
Title: Scoring High on Tests vs. Being Able to Speak: Make Speaking Part of Your English Journey!
Passing an English test and being able to speak are two very different things. Many people might panic when someone speaks English to them. How to overcome this?
You don’t need perfect grammar to start speaking!
Speaking English is part of learning English. English is not only about taking tests. The sooner you include speaking English as part of your learning of English, the better.
Try to start learning English as a child so English is more natural and not foreign.
Beginners should start speaking and hearing English from the very beginning, even simple phrases like:
- すみません — Excuse me
- わかりません — I don’t understand
- もう一度お願いします — One more time, please
- ゆっくりお願いします — Slowly, please
You don’t need perfect grammar to start speaking. You need small sentences you can actually use over and over and then build from there as you move forward. That’s what we teach and do.
In our next post, we will talk about how to move away from just memorizing word lists and how to practice using “real situations.” Stay tuned!
